gray screen after clicking on VDI tdica errors
We recently came across an issue where users access netscaler gateway URL, login successfully, and click on their VDA icon. DesktopViewer.exe opens successfully and it shows a gray screen forever. They can only login after their VDA is restarted. Eventviewer is filled up with tdica errors as shown below:
1002: The Citrix ICA Transport Driver is waiting for connections on port 1494.
1002: The Citrix ICA Transport Driver is waiting for connections on port 2598.
1003: The Citrix ICA Transport Driver is no longer waiting for connectionas on port 1494.
One of the citrix article says, if we are using netscaler, it is better to change ip address of the VDA. User’s VDA had E1000 network adapter in vmware. I have changed network adapter to VMXNET3, that gave a new ip to VDA, but that didnt work.
We have another pool VDAs, which are provisioned from same master image. I have downloaded Autoruns from Microsoft site and executed it in both VDAs, and compared them. Faulty VDA didn’t show up NSX guest introspection drivers in vmware tools, whereas they are installed in working VDA.
I have installed NSX guest introspection drivers from vmware tools in faulty VDA, which fixed the issue.
